Orange Alligator In Hanahan Becomes Viral Sensation

Alligators aren't an uncommon sight in SC, but a newly discovered orange-colored gator has people talking.

Residents joke the gator used too much self-tanning lotion.

The little gator, reportedly about 4.5 feet long, lives in a pond in Hanahan, South Carolina. In fact, it's not even a new phenomenon - another orange-ish alligator was spotted in Florida in 2011.

"I've never seen anything like it", one commenter said.

Residents of a small SC town have been left shocked by a strangely-coloured visitor bathing in a local beauty spot.

For now, neighbors refer to the unique reptile as a "Trump-a-gator".

Moyes looks to Sunderland to build on Palace win
Southampton manager Claude Puel says victory at Sunderland on Saturday will act as great preparation for the EFL Cup final. But I think this is a good game for them.

Jay Butfiloski with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources guesses that the one-of-a-kind alligator might have spent the winter in a rusty steel pipe.

"Algae - maybe some pollutant in the water, but it's hard to say unless the water is tested", Zalabak told WCBD-TV.

"(It) might be iron oxide (rust) that has discoloured it.

That post sparked lots of comments, including one person saying "It's the Trumpagator of Self-Tanner Plantation", according to the Post and Courier.

Thankfully the orange skin may be temporary, as experts say the alligator will shed its skin and probably return to its normal colour soon.
