"Beauty and the Beast" stars Emma Watson and Dan Stevens sit down with USA TODAY to dish on all things from dancing on stilts to their favorite comfort flicks.

If Beauty and the Beast's success has confirmed anything it's that Disney's live action remakes of their animated classics aren't going to stop anytime soon.

Actor Luke Evans nearly turned down the role of Gaston in "Beauty and the Beast" but changed his mind after watching the Disney cartoon with his godchildren. Beauty and the Beast tells the story of the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, attractive and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. The franchise includes 2010's "Alice in Wonderland", 2014's "Maleficent", 2015's "Cinderella", and last year's "The Jungle Book".

It is also America's seventh best debut of all time and the top March debut ever, despite controversy in some countries. Characters like Beast receive more backstory and we get the insight of other characters like the enchantress, Lumière, but perhaps most notably, Gaston's right-hand man, Lefou.

The movie has overtaken the previous North American box-office leader, Warner Brothers' "Kong: Skull Island", that bagged a $110 million since its release.

It carries a hefty $160 million budget but it has already recouped that and looks likely to earn far more as its run continues.
