Guessing game over! Yogi Adityanath will be next UP CM

There remained no doubts about Adityanath's influence in East Uttar Pradesh when the maximum number of BJP MLAs emerged victorious from Gorakhpur zone in the 2002, 2007 and 2012 polls.

This would inadvertently give a huge opportunity to the rival opposition parties, which were lately down in dumps to regroup against Modi and the BJP. In 2002, he founded the Hindu Yuva Vahini. However, Naidu didn't take any questions.

Apart from him, the other name that was speculated to be the chief minister was of BJP's prominent Hindutva force Yogi Adityanath. For once they wouldn't be wrong.

Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha said the decision sent out an "unambiguous" message that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is pursuing the policy of polarisation. "Terrorism - wrong. Hindus hitting back at Muslims for terrorism - right". Development of the state will be my top priority.

As soon as it was decided that the saffron-robed Gorakhpur MP will hold the reins of the state, party leaders and MLAs rushed to the dais with candies and garlands.

Pakistan had claimed that that Asif was allowed to go to Karachi , but Nazim was stopped at the airport itself. Meanwhile, Pakistan on Friday said it was looking into the matter.

Some of the daunting tasks before Chief Minister Adityanath would be to address the massive unemployment in the state, followed by lack of infrastructure and education. Union minister Venkaiah Naidu has rubbished media reports that have suggested several leaders, including Manoj Sinha, who are in the running for the position. But then things changed.

Both Sinha and Adityanath hail from Poorvanchal belt of Uttar Pradesh. However, he has denied any knowledge of the development so far.

Adityanath, considered a divisive political figure, enjoys considerable popularity in the state and is known to make provocative statements, be it about Islam or Pakistan.

Although Poorvanchal is Adityanath's bastion, he was used as one of the prime star-campaigners by BJP in western UP as well. The result BJP could win only three out of 11 seats for which by-elections were held. BJP has become a common man's party. His name for CM and Dinesh Sharma's name for Deputy CM are being discussed, reported ANI. The sources said even though the people of UP voted for Modi, senior party leader Rajnath Singh has been vetoing and opposing every candidate that was being put forth by the Modi-Shah combine.

Just a day ahead of Holi on 11 March, it was said that Modi-Shah duo had turned the festival of colours into saffron but now it seems they have painted the state saffron.
