Larry Sanders agrees to sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs have not announced the signing of Sanders, but reports said he was undergoing his physical this morning. His career-year was the 2012/13 season where he averaged 9.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game, leading the Bucks to the Playoffs.

It is not yet known when Sanders will make his debut with the Cavs, but the team will play its next game on Tuesday night against the Detroit Pistons at Quicken Loans Arena at 7.

Bogut suffered a broken bone in his right leg, and although surgery was not required to fix the damage, he will not be able to play for the remainder of the season or in the NBA Playoffs, which get underway next month. He has a non-guaranteed team option on his contract for the 2017-18 season.

ESPN also reported that Sanders was on the verge of signing.

MI wins Big Ten Tournament, tops Wisconsin, 71-56
Time for the Wolverines to panic? MI shot 59 percent from the field in the first half, including 7 of 13 from 3-point range. Minnesota had one last gasp, but Walton sank four free throws to give the Wolverines a 82-75 lead with 33.3 seconds left.

But a series of injuries, suspensions for marijuana use and off-court incidents led Sanders to walk away from the National Basketball Association and accept a buyout from the Bucks in February 2015.

Cleveland has also struggled on the glass since Kevin Love went out for knee surgery. He had a turbulent five-year stint in the league, with a fight at a Milwaukee nightclub, injuries and multiple suspensions for marijuana.

"It looks like he wants another opportunity, and hopefully, if we're the team, hopefully we give him an opportunity", James said prior to Saturday's Cavs-Magic game. He left the league shortly thereafter and later checked himself into a hospital as he was battling anxiety and depression. "Why not? Everyone deserves a second chance and it look like he wants to get back to playing the game he loves and hopefully this is his destination".

A Cavs official confirmed to Jason Lloyd for Ohio.com two weeks ago that Sanders was arrested past year on a felony charge in Los Angeles. Sanders appeared to be on his way to being one of the better defensive centers in the league.
