Mario Gotze: Borussia Dortmund midfielder ruled out season with illness

BORUSSIA DORTMUND have revealed Mario Gotze is responding "positively" to his initial treatment for his metabolic disturbances.

Gotze released a statement after the news was revealed: "I'm now undergoing treatment and will do everything in my power to be back in training and helping my team to achieve our common goals as soon as possible".

However, while he managed to make 16 appearances in all competitions prior to his diagnosis, he suffered repeated setbacks due to injury and struggled for form.

"The overall sporting goal for the player is to be fully operational at the beginning of next season". The player is now undergoing rehab and an individual training programme.

More than half of all bee species are on the decline, and a quarter are at risk for extinction . They should arrive within four to six weeks, in plenty of time to get them in the ground.

However, the Bundesliga giants have confirmed Gotze will be out for the rest of the season.

Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke added: "BVB wishes Mario Gotze a quick recovery on behalf of his ten million fans".

The German worldwide has not featured for Thomas Tuchel's side since the 1-1 draw with Mainz in late January, with the club confirming last month that he is suffering from a metabolic disorder.

He won the Bundesliga twice during a succesful six-year stint with Dortmund, who he left in 2015, and also played in their 2013 Champions League final defeat to Bayern Munich at Wembley.
