Chhattisgarh TV anchor reads out news of her husband's death

In a show of exemplary professionalism, a TV anchor from Chhattisgarh bravely read breaking news about the death of her husband.

28-year old news anchor Supreeet Kaur was reading her as usual 10-10.30 am news bulleting on Saturday morning.

The reporter said three of the five people travelling in the vehicle were dead. After the bulletin, Kaur called up the reporter and came to know about the death of her husband. They were residents of Raipur.

As more details emerged, she realised her husband was nearly certainly one of those involved in the incident, according to the Indian Express. "She completed the bulletin, walked out of the studio, and then broke down", Tehsin Ziadi, a colleague of Ms. Kaur, said, adding, "It was confirmed on our office's WhatsApp groups that her husband is no more".

"It was indeed a very tough situation for her and equally hard for us to share the news about her husband's death when we learnt about it".

"Even though the reporter on the ground did not give out names, the team could tell that she had found out".

According to the Hindustan Times, Kaur's commitment to her job left her colleagues shocked.

"As she read out the news, she found out that it was the vehicle her husband was to travel in, in that region on the same day", an editor for IBC24 told the Metro. "But, she took control of herself in no time and went ahead anchoring the 30-minute news bulletin", said news input chief of the channel Ansuman Sharma.

"She is an extremely fearless lady".
