While every HTC fan is waiting for a brand new HTC 11 iteration, the Taiwanese seems to be actually adding the finishing touches to HTC U. The latter has been codenamed as "Ocean" and it is expected to arrive somewhere in 2017 instead of HTC 11. We confidently say this, after a popular leakster, Evan Blass posted the same on his twitter handle.

After so many rumours about the HTC's upcoming smartphone HTC U aka Ocean Note, now fresh leaked images of the smartphone are surfacing on the internet. There is no word on when the HTC U will be unveiled but we'll keep an eye out if more details emerge.

What HTC is calling "Edge Sense" utilizes sensors embedded into the frame of the smartphone to create a new interaction process for mobile devices.

It also looks like there'll be a physical home button on the front of the device - so no rear fingerprint scanner as with the Galaxy S8. The good news is that with a rumored mid to late April debut, it may not be long before we get an official look at the HTC U and its Edge Sense functionality. It has been reported the Ocean will have high-end specs such as a 5.5-inch display along with a Quad HD resolution.

What are your thoughts on the HTC U based on the image?

On the camera front, the upcoming HTC U smartphone is expected to come with a pretty much similar camera specifications like that of the HTC U Ultra. In the camera department, the HTC U is going to be equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX362 sensor at the back and a 16MP IMX351 sensor on the front.

The HTC U will have a dual-SIM variant, and also be IP57 water and dust resistant. The HTC U will be the company's second flagship smartphone of the year, after the HTC U Ultra.
