Microsoft releases new Azure Migration resources and tools

Microsoft is holding an event in NY on May 2. It also sounds like the company's rumored Surface Phone isn't on the docket. However, it looks like Microsoft might actually be launching an entirely new product called Windows Cloud. Also in the news, the sky is blue and grass is green.

"Using your existing licenses, you can save up to 40 percent or more on Windows Server virtual machines in Azure, depending on usage, instance type, and location".

Considering the release of the Windows 10 Creators Update this week and the recent press regarding Joe Belfiore's return to focus on education we may be seeing some connection between the two.

The sequel begins production this summer and already has a release date set for November 16, 2018. There are five " Fantastic Beasts " movies planned at this point, so this is just No. 2.

"Now you can move your existing Windows Server licenses to Azure when you extend your datacenter to the cloud". Windows Cloud will be a simple, "and presumably more secure and manageable", version of Windows 10 that would support upgrades to Windows 10 Pro. Microsoft is able to do this by only allowing it to run Unified Windows Platform (UWP) apps which can only be downloaded from the Windows Store, according to BGR.

Business Insider takes that to mean that Microsoft will reveal a new Surface Book with a traditional clamshell design and a streamlined version of Windows 10 for educational applications. And now Microsoft officially announced it's next hardware event. In fact, Windows Cloud can be explained better as a continuation of Windows RT. It's likely the new laptop will get Intel Kaby Lake processors, but there's no USB-C port for it, the same Foley says.

It's possible that the hardware unveiled at the show will be a lower cost Surface tablet aimed at the education market, in an effort to compete with Google's Chromebooks.
