"We're now having dessert, and we had the most attractive piece of chocolate cake that you've ever seen", Trump told Bartiromo. "But when I see people using frightful, terrible chemical weapons ... and see these attractive kids that are dead in their father's arms, or you see kids gasping for life ... when you see that, I immediately called General Mattis".

"So what happens is I said, 'We've just launched 59 missiles. heading to Iraq, '" Trump continued, before being corrected by Bartiromo that the missiles were in fact headed to Syria.

During an interview with Fox Business which aired Wednesday morning, President Trump once again responded to the flattering attention of a television correspondent by running his mouth, further confirming the disintegration of the United States as a global authority.

Trump says that he was faced with a dilemma - whether to inform Xi, who "was eating the cake, and was silent" of the attack.

Earlier in the Fox News interview, Trump said he had been asked how he told Xi the news many times.

"I was sitting at the table we had finished dinner we're now having dessert".

The US President told a TV interviewer that he gave the order for a retaliatory strike while having dinner with President Xi Jinping at his luxury Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida last week.

In 2013, as a businessman, Trump advised former President Barack Obama not to strike Syria after a sarin gas attack near Damascus was reported. "We made tremendous progress in our relationship with China", Trump said after Xi left.

"He said to me, anybody that uses gases - you could nearly say or anything else - but anybody that was so brutal and uses gases to do that to young children and babies, it's OK. he was OK with it, he was OK", Trump said.

"It's so incredible. It's brilliant".

"He paused for 10 seconds", Trump said in describing Xi's reaction. Trump said he immediately asked Defense Secretary James Mattis to lay out America's options after the attack.

Last week, Trump ordered a USA military cruise missile strike against a Syrian airbase US officials say was the launch point for a chemical attack against civilians carried out by forces loyal to Assad.

Less than a week after launching a military airstrikes on a Syrian airbase Trump suggested the USA will not send troops into the Middle Eastern country.

Here's quite possibly the most head-scratching part of it, Trump on bombing "Iraq".
